Tehran vows to offer harsh response to attack; Egyptian ex-general backs Iran's moves
Ynet
The US and "the Zionist regime" are scheming in a bid to prompt military and domestic conflicts in the Middle East, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman warns.
"The Americans believe that the first and immediate outcome of a military conflict in the region will be the salvaging of the Zionist regime, Ramin Mehman-Parast said in a convention in Tehran.
The US is "eager to push the Islamic Republic into a military confrontation in the region," he said, but added that Tehran will offer a harsh response to any act of belligerence against it.
Iran's enemies have already admitted that striking the Islamic Republic will be "stupid and mad," he said.
Meanwhile, a former senior official in Egypt's Navy said that Iran's presence in the Red Sea and in the Mediterranean is line with the "Muslim interest," the Iranian semi-official news agency Fars reported Wednesday.
"Iran's military presence in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea is not against the interests of the Islamic and Arab world; rather it will serve the interests of the regional states," said ex-General Talat Muslim.

BLOGGER'S RESPONSE:
The writing is on the wall. Destroying Israel is in Iran's best interests...they want to control the Middle East so their first act will be the attempted annihilation of Israel. They have nothing to lose as human life does not mean much for them and all of their fallen will be considered martyrs to Allah. After disposing of Israel they will be the leaders of the Arab world and set their sights on Mecca and Medina. If we sit around passively waiting for them to reach full strength we will be sitting ducks and the last Jews of Chelm. Either we get the support of the Europeans to help immediately or we must do it ourselves. The clock is ticking and time is on their side not ours. Their is always a downside to war..ALWAYS. But the downside to passivity is total destruction. That is not acceptable. |

BLOGGER'S RESPONSE:
Not at all dangerous. It took Iran eight years to eke out a humiliating draw against a vastly inferior Iraq. Iran claimed 500,000 casualties, but experts have put the real number at one million, possibly higher. There are two Iranian militaries, because the mullahs do not trust anyone except the Revolutionary Guards. There have been periodic purges in the regular military, too. Despite Iran's ballyhooing and claiming to have reverse engineered this and reverse engineered that and built better systems, the truth is that Iran's materiel is old, out of date and desperately in need of spare parts that Iran cannot acquire. In an armed conflict with Israel, Iran wouldn't last long. Depending on how seriously Israel would wish to engage Iran, one nuke should do the trick. Shut those animals up forever, and give Iran back to the people, who are chomping at the bit; praying for a regime change. |

| Then why are you sending submarines undercover into the Red Sea next to Israel while pretending to fight pirates near Aden? Seems like Iran is the one making the provocation here. |

BLOGGER'S RESPONSE:
| Mutually Assured Destruction may not apply. The assumption that MAD would restrain Iran assumes that the Iranian mullahs think as we do, presumably with reason and objectivity. The mullahs await the return of the Hidden Mahdi. It may be that some in Iran’s leadership believe that apocalypse might move things along. In other words, MAD may not inform and contain events. Iran may not be motivated by the usual rational considerations of state, but by an apocalyptic end-of-world theology. |

BLOGGER'S RESPONSE:
Only a few neocons in the US think another war is a good idea. The US is trying to finish in Iraq and is already debating an Afghanistan exit. Nobody in the US military wants another war. Four at present are enough. And three are not being paid for as yet. In the 80s, the US sailed off Libya to establish that there was freedom of navigation in international waters. So somebody is copying Reagan. Israel probably has subs in the PERSIAN Gulf for the same reason. Reality can be coldhearted. How is Hasbara pronounced in Farsi? |

3-4 Wars may be enough for the U.S. but Who wants war ? Really ! Their are nations in this world that are active in their War preps and openly calling for the destruction of the West and Israel. You just like more than half this nation are asleep. Thats cold hearted reality |
