EGYPT: Egyptians, Egypt, Egyptians, Egypt…

The American foreign policies in the Middle East have always confused me when I was young. America was pretty much living in Egypt through Hollywood, American products, democracy and freedom. I worked in the field of tourism for a while and I found the American tourists to be decent and generous.

But as far as the American foreign policies in the area are concerned, I FIND total bias towards Israel even when such bias is HURTFUL to the American people’s interest. And the worst of all is…American betrayal and hypocrisy towards America’s agent regimes in the area. 

Regimes are supported by a bribery financial system established to help ME dictators control their nations. Nonetheless, the verbal contract entered between the two; the USA, on one hand, and the dictators, on the other, stipulates that: dictators can restore to violence in the process of controlling the nations (the USA'll close her eyes), and in case complaints are raised and heard globally, the USA shall condemn such violence, criticize the governments in issue in order to create a distraction. 

However, when the dictator’s shit becomes so stinky and splatters about because it has hit the fan, then the USA will have to abandon her agents and every tyrant will be on his own.

The USA has been so faithful so such a policy for decades on ends. They did it to the Shah of Iran, to Saddam Hussein in Iraq, to Suharto in Indonesia, etc. And they are in the process of doing it with Hosni Mubarak in Egypt.Yemen, Jordan will follow.

WOW! What a hypocrite woman! Hasn’t she had a crash course about the USA-Egypt relation over the last three decades? Hillary and whoever were in your place, where have you been when the oppressed nations needed you the most, last year..the year before that, 5 years ago, and 15 years ago? Now you are opening your big mouth yapping about democracy, freedom, economical and political reforms! Get lost, the USA has already lost credibility amongst the nations of the world.

And now  the White House is prepared to step up its criticism of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak if his government intensifies its crackdown on protesters!

President Barack Obama privately pressed Mubarak in a telephone call last week to embrace democratic changes. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Mubarak, in power since 1981, has an “important opportunity” to enact economic, political and social reforms. “We call on all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from violence,” she told reporters in Washington. “We urge the Egyptian authorities not to prevent peaceful protests nor block communications, including on social media sites.”

The USA has a major stake in not only what happens in Egypt but in the whole ME area. Egypt is the fourth largest recipient of American aid after Afghanistan, Pakistan and Israel (all corrupt government).

Shadi Hamid, an expert on Islamist politics and democratic reform in the Middle East at the Brookings Institution, said the large pro-democracy protests may have broken the “psychological barrier of fear” among Egyptians. "The U.S. does not want to see the Egyptian regime fall any time soon,’’ Hamid said in a telephone interview. “But people who are protesting, the tens of thousands, do want to see the regime fall some time soon. They are diametrically opposed interests."

Obama, who came to power promising the Arab world a ‘‘new beginning,’’ ran the risk of being discredited and ridiculed by Israel when he delivered a speech in Cairo, Egypt, a few years ago and talked about a cease of construction of the illegal settlement on usurped Palestinian lands. Now if he appears to back an increasingly violent crackdown, his action will contradict his message of encouragement for human rights and freedom of speech. Obama faces a dilemma in trying to balance support for ‘‘democratic aspirations,” given a risk that extremists will dominate.

O Mr. Obama, stop being a hypocrite! The extremists are not in your country. So live and let live; their people can take care of them. It is not the extremists who are the problems. It is your interest which you care about regardless if such interest will clash with other nations' interest or cause sufferings to innocent people. 

In fact all the misery taking place in the ME area is fare more created by the USA interference than by the dictators themselves. Look, what has become of Iraq?!; all is because of a vendetta by a loony president, George W. Bush, based on fake pretexts; Al-Qaeda-Iraq connection, weapons of mass destruction; all proven to be lies.
